

Dorothy was born in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania on March 25, 1929, the daughter of Steve and Teresa Ducsay, who emigrated to the U.S. from Hungary. She was the youngest of eleven children. As a young girl, she helped on the family farm and was quite an accomplished equestrian.
At 17, Dorothy moved to California and married the love of her life, Edward Ralph Heck. They settled in Glendora and had 3 sons, Wayne Edward Heck, Raymond Frederick Heck, and James Steven Heck. She was an excellent wife, mother and homemaker. She dearly loved her family and friends, gardening, cooking, dancing, and was talented at knitting and needlepoint. She had a fun sense of humor and love of life. Dorothy was a resilient, strong woman who put her family first.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Edward Heck and her son James Heck.
Her surviving family includes her son Wayne and wife Cate, son Rick and wife Jo Ellen, three grandchildren, Sean, Hayley and Ryan, and four great grandchildren, Wyatt, Gavin, Kai and Banx. She will always be loved and greatly missed.
A celebration of life for Dorothy will be held Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Lido Isle Clubhouse, 701 Via Lido Soud, Newport Beach, California 92602.
In loving celebration of the life of Dorothy, the family has established a memorial tribute fund at the Hoag Hospital Foundation. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to the Hoag Hospital Foundation (330 Placentia Avenue, Suite 100, Newport Beach, CA 92663) in memory of Dorothy M. Heck. Gifts will be directed to the Area of Greatest Need at Hoag Hospital Newport Beach.
