Dutch was born December 24, 1928, in South Holland, Illinois, the son of Theodore and Ida Van Kalker Huizenga. Dutch was a graduate of Thornton Township High School and went on to Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Where as a Senior his number came up in the draft and he served as a Marine in Korea and Viet Nam. He was proud to be "in the corps" for 20 years. After he retired from the Marine Corps he completed his Bachelor Degree at Chapman College in Orange, California.
In September of 1956 he met Norma Hill who was an Ensign Navy Nurse. They were married June 1, 1957 and have daughters, Lisa Ann Orr married to William Orr, and Lynn Marie Huizenga.
Dutch was preceded in death by brothers, Ted and Jake and sister, Margarite. His youngest, of the five siblings, brother Roger resides in Indiana.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Pacific View Mortuary Legacy Chapel.
