Earlene B, Howell was born on March 3, 1933 in Henderson, N.C. to Earl and Esther Bruin. She graduated from Henderson High School, attended Peace Collage in Raleigh, N.C., and worked as an X-Ray technician at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.
To know her was to love her. She possessed an engaging manner, a light hearted humor, a positive attitude and a love for others that was warm and heartfelt. Earlene’s passion was her family and friends, her garden and cooking, and enjoying the simple things in life.
Earlene contracted polio as a child and was treated by the polio foundation in Warm Springs, Georgia founded by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Although challenging, this experience made her into the strong compassionate woman that she became. She gave freely of her time and talents working with the March of Dimes and other social service organizations.
She is survived by her husband, Jones V. Howell, daughters Sandy Sanders, Joni Marchese and Beth Horne, and her grandchildren, Brett Sanders, CJ Sanders, Ali Sanders, Addison Marchese, Chase Marchese, Curran Horne, Karly Horne and Trever Horne.
We hope you will be able to join us as we celebrate Earlene’s life, and all that she meant to us on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:00am at Pacific View Mortuary Chapel with a graveside service immediately following at Pacific View Memorial Park.
