Edith Lee

March 21, 1912 - March 16, 2012

Edith Lee was 99 years-old, five days short of her 100th birthday, when she passed away peacefully at Paramount Senior Living in Turlock where she had presided since April 2009. Edith was born in Oakland, CA, one of seven children and graduated from Lincoln High School, Los Angeles, CA. This is where she met the love of her life, William “Willie” Lee and in 1931 they wed while he was still in medical school.

While living in the Los Angeles area they had their first born, Ernest, then later moved to Long Beach, and along came Lawrence, Millicent, Madeline, Elliot and Liana, three boys and three girls.

Edith’s greatest accomplishment was watching her children grow into adulthood, going to their school graduations, marriages, births of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her family and was a kind, honest, and humble person.

Edith moved to Orange County to be closer to family members, enjoying all the amenities of family while also working for her son, Dr. Lawrence Lee and his partner, Wally Hersom at LH Research, Inc., enjoying the camaraderie which took place there, meeting many interesting people which added color to her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Dr.William Lee and sons, Ernest and Dr. Lawrence Lee.

Edith enjoyed annual family gatherings and celebrations then moved to Turlock, CA in 2002 starting another phase of life which was also enjoyable and memorable, living with her youngest daughter, Liana, husband Jim, daughter Monika and son Mitchell who all took such wonderful care of her, putting part of their lives and time aside for Edith which was a significant adjustment for all. Surviving children are Millicent (Dr. Stanley Wong), Fresno; Madeline (Chek) Tham, Banning; Elliot Lee, Tustin; Liana (Jim) Hachiya, Turlock..

15 Grandchildren: Victor (Virginia) Lee; Juliene (Allen) Ash; Lisa (John) Perkins; Linda (Sean) Aggarwal; Sherry Ann (Jay) Bidwell; Walter Lee; Melinda (Patrick) Baldwin; Sharlene Wong; Scott (Cindy) Wong; Marla Chung; Cheryl (Les) Hata; Lori Chung; Charmaine (Jeff) Farquar; Monika and Mitchell Hachiya.

15 Great Grandchildren: Jayson, Justin, Jacob, Devan, Cameron, Josalyn, Kyle, Connor, Luke, John, Joshua, Lily Rose, Kimiko, Kira and Jesse.

Visitation: Friday, March 30, 2012 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Pacific View Mortuary Chapel.

Funeral Service: Saturday, March 31, 2012 2:00 pm at Pacific View Mortuary Chapel with a graveside service immediately following at Pacific View Memorial Park.
