November 21,1940 - January 13, 2021
Our beloved Ed was born in Lawrence, MA to Edward and Dora Conley. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1959 and soon after joined the Marine Reserves, graduating from Parris Island, SC in November 1961. He married high school sweetheart, Dorothy A. Kibildis, on October 17, 1964. Their marriage blessed them with 56 years of genuine love and devotion. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy, his three children who were the light of his life: a son Edward Thomas of NC, two daughters: Elizabeth Christine and Susan Patricia, both of CA, his six beautiful grandchildren, his dearest sister Cynthia Brown of Methuen, MA, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Westford MA was the primary MA residence until a move to CA for Ed and Dorothy in 2009.
Ed received his Bachelor Degree in Chemistry from Northeastern University. His degree, hard-working demeanor, and dedicated work ethic directed his career to success as a Corrosion Engineer. He worked in MA for Stone and Webster and Heat Exchanger Systems (HES). His knowledge and expertise sent him to power plants in the US and Europe and he wrote many technical presentations and designed and taught corrosion courses. As retirement for HES approached, he chose to begin his own consulting firm known as Corrosion Resolutions for which he devoted his time and knowledge from 2007-2012.
Beloved Ed, your family and all who knew you admired your genuine, warm, loving, and caring spirit that you shared unselfishly. During your life, you were family focused and cherished time with the grandkids in NC and CA. Their sports interests, activities, and performances were fun and exciting. Famous for your being such an avid reader, 2-3 books a week was sometimes possible. Traveling with family was a favorite for Ed and we have many wonderful pictures and memories. And, oh yes, the pride Ed had as a Boston sports fan was second to none, especially for our Patriots! Life has been full and rewarding.
A Celebration of Life will be at a later time when family and friends can gather safely and honor Ed.
Donations to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be a beloved and welcome offering to honor Ed.
