Giles F. Allison

California native and Newport Beach dentist Dr. Giles F. Allison passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023, at the age of 96. He is survived by his kind and loving wife of nearly 65 years, Joyce Allison.

Giles also leaves behind six children, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren: daughter Ann Allison Polich (granddaughters Katie Polich Caravaggio (Alex) and Kelly Polich, great granddaughters Luciana and Alessandra Caravaggio); son Giles Allison Jr. (wife Jamie, grandson and granddaughter Curran and Sydney Allison); daughter Mary Allison Mix (husband G.W., grandsons Ryan (Sophie), Casey and Kyle Mix, great grandson Felix Mix); son Andy Allison (granddaughter and grandson Avery and Grady Allison); daughter Sara Allison Mix (husband Greg, granddaughter and grandson Megan and Garrett Mix); son Will Allison (wife Kathleen, grandson and granddaughter Nate and Gemma Allison). Giles was pre-deceased by parents Claude and Ina Allison, brother Claude Allison Jr. and son-in law Gary Polich.

Giles attended North Hollywood High School, UCLA and Marquette University Dental School and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He practiced dentistry just a few miles from his Bayshores home. Giles filled his 36 years of retirement with global travel, home projects and pets (Petey #1 and #2 and neighborhood squirrels). Now reunited with his Sigma Nu buddies, Giles was a lifelong UCLA fan and suitably exited the Pac-12 in the same year as his beloved Bruins. Forever humming, Giles is checking out those “Super Deals” from above.

The family will only be holding a private family service to honor Dr. Giles F. Allison.
