Grace was a loving wife, daughter, and friend with such profound faith. She grew up in Illinois as the beloved only child. At an early age she developed a love for reading, which she carried throughout her life. In high school, her father passed away. This trial matured and strengthened her at a young age, instilling her desire to become a doctor.
When it came time for college, Grace branched out to the west coast and enrolled at the University of Southern California, where she thrived and persistently pursued her goal. During her Freshman year, she met her one and only love, and study partner, Ashton. She completed her BA and MA in Psychology and prospered as a leader for many student organizations.
Upon graduation, Grace attended the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, where she discovered her calling in anesthesiology. The week after graduation, she married her college sweetheart, Ashton, and the two of them happily began their life together as medical residents at UC Irvine Medical
Center. They finally had the opportunity to work side by side at the same institution, and even the same operating room. The future looked bright.
Shortly into their second year of residency, Grace valiantly began a 9-month battle with cancer. With unwavering faith, she gracefully accepted this challenge and faced it head on until she passed away peacefully at home with Ashton by her side. This Sunday, June 9 marks their two-year wedding anniversary and nearly a ten-year relationship full of pure agape love.
Grace is survived by her husband Ashton Christian and Mother Aerin Lee. Her family is comforted to know that she is living peacefully in heaven, free from pain, where we will soon see her again.
