Iona Catherine Soucie

Born in England on July 6, 1934, our beloved Iona Soucie passed away September 5th at Sierra Vista Hospital in San Luis Obispo. Surviving Iona and at her side were Roland Soucie, loving husband of 51 years, sons James and Mark, daughter, Heather, and grandson, Drew. Also surviving is youngest grandson, Brandon.

Iona, a proud-practicing Registered Nurse met Roland Soucie in Boston and the two were married in 1961.

Upon retiring and moving from Costa Mesa to their beloved Cambria 13 years ago, Iona ,then free to exercise her intense love of music, joined the Presbyterian Church Choir.

A devout patriot and volunteer, "Oni" had a passion for family and life rivaled only by her infectious laugh and sense of humor, as her loving colleagues of the "Gross Group" can attest. Iona especially loved the beach, and was in her glory at the Dog Park as she adored all creatures great and small.

Missed immensely already, Oni's robust life merits two memorials.

The first on Saturday September 15th, 2p.m. at Pacific View Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Dr., Corona Del Mar, CA. 92625.

The second on Saturday September 22nd, 10 a.m. at Community Presbyterian Church, 2250 Yorkshire Dr., Cambria, CA. 93428.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Cambria Chorale Scholarship Fund, Doctors Without Borders, and the M.S. Society.
