Auntie Ireney was an amazing woman. She was one of the most supportive people in my life. She was always encouraging me to believe in myself. She helped me figure out what a good route to take would be when I wanted to go into interior design. She gave me makeup tips when I started wearing makeup. My first painting I had ever sold was to aunt Irene. She is one of the classiest dames I know, yet still one of the funniest. While my momma was hard at work raising me to be a woman, Auntie Ireney was hard at work teaching me to be a lady. I will always strive to be just like Aunt Irene when I grow up.

Mom,
You were such a beautiful and classy lady, who loved to intertain. You enjoyed life with traveling around the United States, Europe and camping. You loved collecting Angels and they all had a meaning and a story. You loved Christmas and had a beautiful tree with all the beautiful wonderful Angels. Christmas was always a special time of year for you.
Thank you for always being there for me as it ment a lot. You were such a great Mom who was always there to help or just listen. You were my "ROCK"'  but most of all my best friend. I miss and love you so much. I think of you and Dad every day! I know both you and Dad are together in heaven. I appreciate you and Dad watching over me as,it gives me warmth.

What a wonderful life you've had. What a kind hearted person and how you helped to show the unconditional love we all hope everyone attempts to strive to achieve. Was this life perfect? Life is never perfect and that is what makes your life special.  It's a path that no one else has traveled and that makes your life special. You raised children and showed love and that makes you and your life special. You lived your life during many different decades that each brought a new way of thinking and behavior and that makes your life special. You now know peace and have witnessed  perfection because you are apart of the creator and that is why we shall celebrate your life because you are special. Great Auntie Irene was always a blast to be around whether I was a little girl or all grown up. She definitely knew how to light up a room and make someone laugh. Irene was one of a kind - smart, elegant, and a friend to all.  Her generosity and kindness to her Desk and Derrick club members and Golden Oldies group was what made her visits a highlight....Just won't be the same.

I am probably Irene's oldest friend.   We met in 1955 and have been like sisters ever since.  We have survived good times and bad times and laughed and cried together.  Our children and her children were like  family. Irene had a beautiful singing voice and was a talented hostess. She loved Christmas and her angels.  She loved to go out to lunch and shopping.  She had such good taste and had a wonderful respect for the English language which I always admired.  My dear friend Irene has gone with her angels to sing in  God's choir and I will miss her desperately  It is hard to imagine a world without her.

We are going to miss Irene so much!!!  Looking through these pictures shows a very happy lady.  I will always remember her great laugh and smile.  She looked like a movie star in her younger days...wow, so beautiful!!! I know my boys will miss not having Irene as their audience when they were playing basketball or skateboarding in the street.  She just loved to watch them play. Much thanks to the family for allowing me to be a part of Irene's last days.  I will cherish that I got to have "the last dance" as I transferred her to the hospital bed getting her ready and comfortable to spend eternity with Jesus.
