Met Jeff and Nancy some twenty years ago in the jacuzzi at the neighborhood community pool.  Valerie and I became friends with the Salzman's like right away.  I, Brian, was a runner for many years, but due to a lower spine injury had to take up cycling.  Jeff was a runner and a cyclist.  We cycled many evenings in the dark with lights and on weekends. Jeff supported me in a 150 mile ride on my 50th birthday.  I shaved my legs and bought Jeff a razor and shave cream, but could not get him to shave his.  On those rides, Jeff would often listen to me share problems I was having at work and provide coaching advice which was invaluable.   As work got busy, we'd still make time for periodic dinners with Jeff and Nancy.  Wish I had made time for more.  I last saw and spoke to Jeff a couple weeks ago as I was leaving for work at 6:30 am and he was leaving for a run.  We talked at the corner and then went on our way.   So sad for Nancy and the family that this wonderful guy is no longer with us.  I've lost a younger brother and sister over the last six years, but see signs they are around me all the time and talk to them regularly.  I am confident Nancy, Jeff's family and his friends will see signs of Jeff as we go forward.  We just need to be open and aware.   Jeff, continue running, hiking, climbing.  Plan the route for us when we arrive to meet you again.  Brian
