John passed away after a hard fought battle with cancer, surrounded by his family and dearest friends. His Christian faith allowed him to face this battle without fear and he met each challenge with incredible grace.
Born in Maryland, he grew up playing music and leading worship at church. He graduated from McGill University, then earned his Masters in Divinity from Tyndale University. John spent 20 years in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries bringing new therapies to patients. His life-long passion was mentoring and pastoring others.
His devotion and selflessness as a husband was unmatched. Over 24 years of marriage to his wife Jeannie, John’s first and last thoughts each day were to take loving care of his wife.
Their son Matty was the light of John’s life. His priority as a father was to show Matty a path to becoming a deeply good and Christian man.
John was known to his friends and family as a funny, curious, generous, and loyal person.
He is survived by his parents Robert and Sonia, his sister Caroline, his wife Jeannie and his son Matty.
In honor of John, the family invites guests to wear white or colors that celebrate life. The family kindly asks that guests refrain from wearing black.
