
1918 - 2017
Kathryn was born in March 1918 and would have been 100 next year. Born in Portland, Oregon, she moved with her family to Los Angeles when she was quite young. She attended public schools in West Los Angeles and Santa Monica and majored in social studies at UCLA until she left school following her marriage to Dean.
Dean passed away in 2005 and had established his own lumber and building materials business in Venice. They had two children, Janet who was born in 1941 and now lives in Redondo Beach and Alan, born in 1948, and now living in Montana. There are 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Kathryn was a homemaker but also an accomplished painter in both oil and water color, specializing in portraits. Some of her paintings have been shown at Regents Point. She was active in the Brentwood Guild, engaged in raising funds for the John Tracy Clinic for hearing impaired children. She and Dean were active members of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.
The family will celebrate her life with a burial at sea at a time in the future.
