Larry Sanders was born on February 12, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri to Perry and Nadine Sanders. He passed away at home in Newport Beach, California on April 9, 2018, after a courageous and well fought battle with cancer.
Larry grew up in Kansas City, MO and attended Southwest High School.
While in high school he met Janet. They married at age 21 and celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2017.
He began his technology career with IBM and subsequently became the CEO of several companies, including Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Crossroads Systems and Sanera Systems. He also served on the boards of Xantrex and Lantronics. Larry's career took him and his family to many places around the world, including Jackson, MS; Allendale, NJ; Westlake Village, CA; Santa Ana, CA; Singapore; Los Gatos, CA; Austin, TX; La Quinta, CA; and Newport Beach, CA. He also traveled extensively in Europe and Asia. He was very people oriented and enjoyed developing friends in each place.
Larry enjoyed coaching many of his two sons baseball and basketball teams. He helped form an Educational Foundation at Foothill High School and was President of the Football Booster Club. He also served on the board of Junior Achievement in Orange County. Was President of Rancho La Quinta Country Club HOA and was involved with various philanthropic organizations. He enjoyed being involved in activities with youth. His great joy was in coaching and mentoring. He was also a proud grandfather who proudly supported his grandchildren in their athletic and educational pursuits.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Janet; his son, Jeff, of New Canaan, CT; his son, Rick, of Phoenix, AZ; and his daughter-in-law, Jennifer. He has four wonderful grandchildren: Jack (15), Ella (12), Caroline (7), and Lawrence (10 months). He is also survived by his brother, Gary (Regina), his sister, Mary, his brother-in-law, Bob; his three nieces, Lauren, Jessica, and Liz; and one nephew, Andy.
His Celebration of Life will be May 18, 2018 at Santa Ana Country Club 20382 Newport Blvd. Costa Mesa, CA at 1PM
