

Lee (Eulalie) Teresa Swearingen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away at her home in Huntington Harbor on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89. Lee was born on December 10, 1935 to Joseph and Anna Louviere in Plaquemine, Louisiana. She was raised with three brothers, Harold, Donald and Dudley, and four sisters, Elaine, Helen, Bertha and Doris.
Lee’s family moved to New Orleans in 1952 where she attended Ursuline Academy graduating in 1953. She attended Soule College in New Orleans. Lee began her career working at Maison Blanche and then became a flight attendant for TWA and Eastern Airlines.
She married the love of her life, James Joseph Swearingen, on July 16, 1966 in New Orleans. Throughout their lives they lived in New York, New York, Tiburon, California, and Haverford, Pennsylvania before landing in Huntington Beach. While living in Haverford, PA, Lee enjoyed purchasing and remodeling many homes in Avalon, New Jersey and she continued her love for interior decorating in their vacation homes in Santa Barbara and Indian Wells, California.
Lee is survived by her stepson, Tony and wife, Anne Logan and their children, Margaret and Rainer of Asheville, NC, daughter in law, Bonnie Swearingen of Pompano Beach, FL, her sister in law, Janice Lackey and her husband Allen of The Woodlands, TX, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lee was a devout catholic her entire life and a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Seal Beach for over 30 years. Lee and Jim celebrated 50 years together on July 16, 2016 before he passed away on December 23, 2016. Lee was involved for many years in her community. She was a member of the Admiralty Group of the Huntington Harbor Philharmonic, The Guilds Segerstrom Center for the Arts Flying Dutchman Chapter, Anglers of Huntington Harbor and the Huntington Harbor Yacht Club for many years.
Lee is preceded in death by her husband James, her stepson James Joseph Jr., both parents and all of her siblings.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, located at 340 10th Street, Seal Beach, California, 90740, on December 6, 2025, starting at 12:30 pm. A Graveside Service will follow at Pacific View Memorial Park, Balboa Gardens, located at 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar, California, 92625
