

Margaret “Peggy” George Revely, 80, passed away on July 4, 2011. Born on January 5, 1931 to Katharine and Paul George of 445 North Main Street in Greensburg, PA, she was the youngest of five children. After attending Marjorie Webster College, Peggy traveled to California in the early 1950’s to visit her brother. She has resided in Southern California ever since. She worked as a physical education instructor, then married Fred Revely in 1955 and raised four children first in Torrance, then Rossmoor and finally in Newport Beach.
In the various communities where she lived, Peggy was engaged in many activities surrounding her children’s lives, PTA President, Girl Scout Troop Leader, and school food service worker. She was actively involved at St. James Episcopal Church where she served as Wedding Coordinator for many years. And, she retired in 1995 from Bank of America where she worked for over 10 years.
For the last 10 years, Peggy has been an active member of the residential community where she lived, Park Terrace in Rancho Santa Margarita. Her 25 year battle with Parkinson’s disease was made easier by moving to Park Terrace. She became very fond of the caregivers that worked with her over the years. And, she cherished the many friendships that she made.
Peggy’s passion for football, her love for games and cards, her enthusiasm for roller coasters, her talent for knitting, her sense of humor, and her love and kindness to family and friends will be missed
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Mary Cullen of Costa Mesa, CA; her son, Bill Revely of Dove Canyon, CA; her daughter, Meg Brand of Rye, NY; her grandchildren Sarah, Betsy, Laura, Will, Spencer, Jackie and Katie; and her great granddaughter Lyndi Beth. She is predeceased by her daughter Paula Revely, and her four older siblings Hacke George, Alice Hamilton, Sallie Mazanowski and John George.
A private graveside burial service is to be held at Pacific View Mortuary in Corona Del Mar, Saturday July 9, 2011 at 10am.
