

Mary Kay Dieter of Irvine, California passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023 after her courageous battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. She leaves behind her husband Wayne, stepchildren David (Pilar) Dieter and Nicholas Dieter, grandchildren Griffin and Izzy Dieter, sister Sandy Tansman, and beloved niece Giana Tansman (David DeSantis). She married Wayne Dieter in 1998 opening her heart to his two sons, David and Nicholas.
Mary Kay was born July 27, 1951 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Frank Robert Hulet and Frances Reeder Hulet. She graduated from Gardena High School in 1969, then received her B.A. in English from Cal State University, Long Beach. Mary Kay continued her education at South Western Law School, where she received her Juris Doctorate. As the first female Manager of Blue Cross of California, she successfully oversaw the highest producing office in the state. Mary Kay was a healthcare Executive with Anthem/Blue Cross for 15 years and became president of Wayne L. Dieter & Associates in 1998.
Mary Kay accomplished many other things, but her transformation of her home into a winter wonderland during Christmastime created magic for her family and friends. Christmas without Mary Kay will never be the same. Her memory should be a blessing to all who knew her.
