“Keep doing things to enjoy life and making those memory moments”
~ Mike Allen ~
Mike Allen enjoyed life to the fullest. He was kind-hearted, loving,
thoughtful and always clowning around. He had a unique ability to
genuinely connect with everyone he met. He fell in love with his wife
Romina who was and will always be the love of his life. Mike was a
devoted husband, loving father, caring and generous son, and friend.
Romina and Mike built a remarkable life together and their love for each
other is immeasurable. To everyone who knew them, they will always be known as Mike & Romina.
Mike and Romina raised their children in a loving Christian home.
Family was his number one priority. He was Matt, Tyler and Tiffany’s
biggest fan. Mike was a goofy cheerleader and photographer at every single game his kids played in. From soccer games, piano recitals or volleyball games he was always there, cheering in the stands with his camera in tow.
Mike and Romina instilled in their kids a love for adventuring and
traveling as a family. Since the kids were little, there were family
vacations to Lake Tahoe (where Mike taught all the kids how to ski),
Hawaii, Mexico, Europe and camping all over the US. Mike had a special love for RV trips. Even as adults, his kids still look forward to the annual family ski trips. He made every aspect of family life fun and his kids fondly nicknamed him “Mike Chill”.
As empty nesters, Mike and Romina both love to travel and in recent years have
taken trips to Italy, Germany, Switzerland, France, Canada, Costa Rica and have camped anywhere their RV would take them. They are wine lovers and enjoy wine tasting in Italy, Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Temecula, and other wineries.
Mike loved to play and watch soccer, and he was a big fan of the LA Kings
and the 49ers. Mike had a magic green thumb and could make
anything grow, from flowers to fruit and vegetables. He was the family
handyman and there was nothing he could not fix. If the kids ever had any car trouble, he was also the family mechanic. As the family grill master, he loved to fire up the barbeque and smoker to feed everyone (and their friends). Mike and Tiffany shared a special bond over cooking, constantly exchanging ideas and trying new recipes. Thanksgiving was a special time in their kitchen, with Mike teaching her how to make the perfect turkey and gravy, complete with sassy silly antics.
The US Postal Service was blessed to have Mike for 38 years and will always hold a special place in his heart. He met the love of his life on the graveyard
shift and built several lifelong postal friendships. He started as a letter sorting
machine clerk and worked his way to an Executive Senior Plant Manager. If you know Mike, you knew he would one day become one of the most beloved leaders of the postal team. Mike was loyal and dedicated to the people he worked with. He was not only a manager to many but a mentor and a friend. Mike was inspirational and cared for his postal family deeply. His compassionate leadership style brought out the best in his team. He built strong relationships with many and most would call him their big brother or postal dad.
Mike’s family is heartbroken and he will be deeply missed by his friends,
however the “memory moments” he created with all of us will live on.
See you in heaven, Mike Chill!
“He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds”
