Michael Francis Anson, age 89, of La Palma, California passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Michael was born in Kingston Ontario, Canada. Michael F. Anson was born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada on November 8, 1934, to Joseph William Anson and Mary Catharine Ledford. He was child #7 out of 11. At age 14, he left school to hold a job as a bookkeeper and never stopped working. He moved with his mother and younger siblings to California in 1952 and learned the trade of electrician under the tutelage of his Uncle George. He became a part of the IBEW brotherhood and remained loyal to this group even after his 40 years in the trade. In 1960, Michael was drafted into the Army and stationed overseas in Italy. He took this opportunity to travel most of the European continent. He was honorably discharged in 1962. Michael met his wife, Florene Chandler, at Turk’s Bar in Compton in 1965. The two were joined in marriage on November 4, 1967, making Michael an instant father to Cindy, Sandy, and Jimmy. They took up residence in La Palma, California and their family grew soon after with the addition of Michelle and Michael. Michael worked hard, enjoyed get-togethers at the homes of his siblings, and meet-ups with his Breakfast Club. We lost Michael on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
