Michael Carl Phillips, age 61, of Costa Mesa, California passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022. Michael was born on December 23, 1960 in Thermal, California. Before the age of 15, he had built his first engine. His fierce talent for anything mechanical eventually led him to studying HVAC at Orange Coast College, after which he started his own business. Splitting his time between Orange County and the Salton Sea, Michael planned to eventually retire in Spirit Lake, Idaho, where he also owned a home. He loved few things more than flying, racing, and a trusty canine companion. Michael leaves behind four daughters and eight grandchildren.
