I'm very sorry to hear about Natalye's passing after a long and courageous battle she fought. As her Utopian classmate I'll always remember her smile, friendliness, bubbly personality and what a good person she was. A donation to the City of Hope for cancer research will be made in her memory.

Dear Howard,
Words can't express my sorrow for you and your family. I know what a courageous fight you and Natalye made these last few years. Which surely gave her more time.
I hope you can find some measure of peace.
Know that I still consider you an advocacy hero. Your devotion @ advocacy to your family proves it.

Natalie was an incredible role model all those years in Special Education. She was one of a kind and I was privileged to work with her. In recent years, when we would meet, she remained dedicated, feisty, and humorous. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Howard, you must have done something really right to get to spend 55 years with a woman like Natalye!
Laurie and Jeff, your wonderful mother was the most self-effacing person I've ever known. Her children and grandchildren were the only things I ever heard her brag about and, boy, did she brag!
It was my great privilege to call Natalye my friend for 41 years, through CSUF and IUSD. She will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched. The tremendous turnout at her service today bears testimony to how universally she was loved.
My thoughts are with you all.

One of the great women we have known. She fought a long, difficult battle with cancer with courage, all the while enduring multiple tragedies in her family without pity. She was as selfless, caring, and giving as they come.
Our sincerest condolences to Howard, Laurie, Jeff and family. We loved and admired Natalye very much, and we share in your loss.
"Let your mind rest easy, sleep well my friend.
It's only our bodies that betray us in the end."

Natalye was one of the best, loyal, dedicated and professional Special Education Administrators the Irvine Unified School District has ever had. She was so devoted to the students and always had their best interests at heart. Natalye was the epitome of professionalism and classiness all rolled up into one, and such a good role model for up and coming educators.
