

Born on September 26, 1937, in Bauan, Batangas, Philippines, Norma was the first child of Dr. Miguel Castillo Banta and his wife, Adele Bouquillon. As a youngster, Norma attended elementary school in Bauan, Batangas, then entered St. Theresa's Academy High School. After graduating high school, Norma attended St. Bridget's College completing a Bachelor Degree in Music following an outstanding piano recital in 1960. After graduation, Norma began teaching English to high school students at St. Bridget's College as well as piano lessons to younger students. Norma was an avid art lover and enjoyed painting and creating patterns on clothes. Her first love, though, was music. Norma especially enjoyed classical and contemporary piano pieces. On May 28, 1962, Norma married Dr. Manuel Enriquez Comia in Malate Catholic Church in Manila, Philippines. In 1963, she moved to Guam with her husband where he attended to patients at the Guam Memorial Hospital. While in Guam, Norma gave birth to her first child, James Manuel, followed by a daughter, Norma Joan (Joanie), and another son, John Michael. In 1967, Norma moved to the United States where she had her second daughter, Eileen Adele, and her youngest son, Norman Joseph. At this time, Norma became a full-time homemaker. Norma was a dedicated mother, especially to her daughter, Joanie, who has special needs. Norma travelled the world with her husband after her children were grown. Norma is survived by her sons, James, Michael and Norman; two daughters, Joan and Eileen; three grandchildren, Calvin, Caitlan and Alyson; her two sisters, Mathilda and Patricia, and her brother, Edwin.
