Nana was the sweetest lady. She was always so nice. I remember staying at her house for the summers and walking down the street in the mornings for donuts. I remember making her come outside in the backyard with me to practice soccer, she was always so patient. She would teach me how to sew and always untangle my jewelry for me. The memories she left me with will stay with me forever. 


From day one, the first time I met Olga, she welcomed me in her home, always calling me bonnie lad......we had many adventures in the backyard, with some she was not so happy with, but always welcomed me back....Ms. Olga, you were always great, and helped me a few times with my halloween costumes, and the laugh you had when we were finished.....you were always a part of my life growing up, I will miss you, but never forget you.....Thank you from the bottom of my heart......Bonnie Lad Jim

From day one you were welcomed family to your home. Your love and compassion blessed all that knew you. A mother, a grandmother, a friend to many. Your life, your legacy lives on on all that that have known you. Thank you for your love and welcoming heart!

Olga is my Nana. I have a lot of cherished memories with her, and the clearest three focus around things she would say in her lovely accent-- "A girl after me own heart", "I'll dance at your wedding", and something about Tom Selleck's mustache. 

Nana is the person that taught me how to put milk in my tea without it tasting burnt. I used to visit her in Huntington Beach when I was in college, and the first thing we'd discuss is having a cuppa tea. My answer was always yes, and Nana would always say "A girl after me own heart!", and we'd watch the West Wing or Monk and have tea and cookies. 

Another phrase I can still hear her saying is "I'll dance at your wedding!" Jon and I didn't have a wedding, but we did visit her soon after getting married and danced with her the best we could. 

Many of my favorite memories with Nana happened while watching Magnum PI. First, it was a great show. Second, it was awesome hearing Nana go on about how hot Tom Selleck is and how much she liked his mustache. Everyone would filter in and out of the house, passing through the TV room, and we'd all watch episode after episode with her. 

I'm so grateful for the time I was able to spend with Nana Olga. She was a great person who always wanted the best for everyone around her, and she brought joy to so many people's lives. 

We were so sorry to hear about Olga. Some of my best memories are of staying on various holidays at Olga and Kenny's house .She was always very happy and welcoming ,nothing would be  too much trouble for her.
I always remember everybody watching films from the comfort of the fold down settee bed and sitting up talking into the early hours about her life in Newcastle and California.
She was a lovely lady who loved her family and will be greatly missed.

One of my  fondest memories of Auntie Olga, and I can still picture it today, is when we used to spend the night, and she made all of us kids " soldiers and egg" in the morning. This was a soft boiled egg and toast with butter on it. The toast was cut in small linear pieces which we would dunk into the yolk. It was yummy! I would look forward to that everytime we spent the night! She will truly be missed, but never  forgotten! I love you Auntie Olga. Love, Lara. XXXXXOOOOO

We have fond memories of great parties at Aunty Olga and Uncle Ken's house. I also enjoyed when our family all sat around and talked about the old times  in England. It was great to hear the trials and tribulations of our family. We will miss you terribly Aunty Olga .

The passing of a loved one is never easy, especially when that loved one was so kind and loving. Staying at Nana’s house during summers when I was growing up are some of my favorite memories with her. She would tell me stories of her childhood and how it was like in England during her time and I was always so fascinated. I love you Nana, you’ll always be remembered.

We are so sorry for the loss of our dear friend Olga. She was the sweetest, most gentle woman and had the kindest heart. We will always remember the good times we shared together...having tea and cookies, sitting in her backyard and chatting, and watching her favorite shows with her, Magnum PI and Murder She Wrote. She was one of a kind and we will miss her greatly. Sending our condolences to her family and friends. We love you Olga. 

I am so deeply sad and sorry for the loss of Olga. She was an amazing lady and I am grateful to have known her. My fondest memories are from when I lived with her in her Huntington Beach home. I loved hearing her stories about her childhood and of how she met her husband Ken (may he Rest In Peace). I will forever cherish those memories and will always remember her beautiful smile, cheerful attitude, and contagious laugh. My heart goes out to her family and all those who are missing her. May the love and comfort of family and friends carry you through your grief. 

Olga was my Mum Betty Brazear's step sister, and dearly loved by her and my Dad Tom. How proud was I to be asked  to be one of Olga's bridesmaids when she married Ken. Mum and Dad loved to spend their holidays in the U.S. with Ken and Olga and the family. It was also great  to have them come to stay when they came to the U.K. Olga and Ken were the most welcoming and generous people you could wish to meet, and now part of our family has been taken away with the passing of Olga. I will miss that lovely smile and that Geordie accent that Olga never lost even after living thirty plus years  in California. I toast you with "me cup of tea" Olga. Forever in our hearts. Tears of sorrow have come to clear the path and unlock my memories of the joy of having been part of the Kirkup house.  Mrs K's words resonate in my head as I write this. Vacation times were always the best. Gatherings at the home were special as well. Rest in peace with your Love.


I didn’t know Mrs. Kirkup but I know that she was an awesome Mother because Ken is an awesome man.  We love you all and are praying for you.

Olga was a beautiful woman inside and out! I had the pleasure of seeing her wonderful smile and catching up with her when I visited Heather these past 11 years. She loved her kids and grandchildren so much. Her face would light up at Stephanie’s soccer games and she had the most contagious laugh. She enjoyed watching Karlee and Stephanie throughout their soccer journey together. She had a wonderful life and was loved by so many. She will be missed so much! Olga was the loveliest woman, always good natured and a smile on her face. We were lucky enough to be neighbors and our families were also good friends. I have such fond memories of all the terrific camping trips to the Santa Barbara area and Lake Tahoe. I loved all the parties that we had at their house, everyone would be singing all the old songs and Ken would make his unique appetizers. I will admit that it took me a while to understand her accent , it was so different from my parents. Olga would pop by and have a cup of tea with my Mum and they would be talking and laughing round our kitchen table for hours sharing stories of the old country.  I will always cherish the memories of her laughing, once she got to laughing she would laugh so hard that she would have tears streaming down her face... I will miss her laugh

Auntie Olga has passed away but she will never be forgotten. She has gone to be with Uncle Kenny, two of the most loveliest people that I have ever known. They were were so kind and loving. I have great memories of her and Uncle Kenny, especially when I was  young, as they would take me  and my cousins, on days out for picnics. Then, when I was older, they would come over to England for vacation with the family and we would all go and revisit places that they knew.             
I know Auntie Olga will be a  big miss to  all of her family

Olga was a beautiful, kind and loving woman who always seemed to have a twinkle in her eyes.  She smiled and laughed easily and always made me feel part of the family.  I deeply admired her strength, resilience and presence of mind.  And her sense of humor.  I send my love to all of her family and friends who will  miss her wonderful presence in their daily lives.  She will remain in my heart forever.


Olga was my brother Imad mother in law. Throughout the years, she was always a pleasant and a loving person, Olga had this beautiful smile on her face that makes us feel comfortable around her.
Last time I saw her, she was watching the TV show Magnum P.I. , I sat down next to her, she turned around and told me: isn't  he handsome? Meaning (Tom Selleck).
My family, my wife Mona & my two boys Rayan & Hady, will always remember her and she will always stay in our hearts.



Olga was my mother in law for nearly 25 years. She never let me feel once that I was her son in law; but rather she welcomed me into her family and made me feel that I was her third son. She lived kind and humble and left in the same way. We were all lucky to have her in our lives. Despite her departure, she will be forever in our hearts and she will always remain as a second Mom to me.

Auntie Olga and Uncle Ken left Newcastle in 1969.I was only 15 but in those 15 years they made a big impression on my life. Auntie Olga was a kind, gentle and loving auntie. My memories of Auntie Olga and Uncle Ken are very special.

Olga was my mom too. Since the age of 9 her and Ken were a huge stability of love, support and normalcy in my life. 
 Olga is, and will always be, my hero and role model.  She was, and still is, the most kindest, compassionate, giving, hard working, true lady, that I have ever known.  I will miss her greatly, every moment with her benefited my life.  She is always in my daily thoughts and heart. We love you always mom.
