

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Elizabeth Murphy Lane on May 4, 2023. Patricia was a beautiful, intelligent, creative and strong woman. She was known for her grace, poise, creativity and personal style. Pat was a beloved member of her community. She was an accomplished artist, a counselor, a teacher, and a frequent volunteer. Pat participated over her years in the Assistance League of Newport Mesa, the Philharmonic Society of Orange County, and Community Bible Study. She loved all forms of art, classical music and especially performing arts. Pat generously shared these interests with her children and grandchildren. Patricia will be deeply missed by her family, the members of her church-- St. James Anglican Church, and all who knew her.
As a proud graduate of the University of Southern California, Pat was a loyal member of the Delta Gamma sorority and continued life-long friendships forged while at USC. Pat was the USC Freshman Homecoming Queen, the Wisteria Queen, and the See’s Candy Queen in the Pasadena Rose Parade. She was a pioneering member of her high school badminton team, an avid tennis player during the 80’s at the Newport Beach Tennis Club, as well as an early adopter of the practice of yoga. In her later years, she loved walking on the beach and tending to the beautiful, fragrant roses in her garden.
Patricia was predeceased by her youngest daughter, Patty Jean Lane. She is survived by her daughters, Lesly Lane Davenport (John Davenport) and Karin Lane Borchard (Mike Borchard), as well as her grandchildren Michael Borchard Jr. (Christine Borchard), Nikki Borchard, Cameron Knight, Elizabeth Knight, and Landon Knight.
Patricia will always be remembered for her beauty, impeccable style, keen intelligence, and personal strength. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A private ceremony for Patricia was held on June 11, 2023 at Pacific View Memorial Park.
