Paul, It still hasnt hit me that you are no longer here. It doesnt make any sense that the universe can take someone so innocent like you away. I want to be believe that some hacker organization was upset at you for doing some untoward cyber mischief and decided to take you out. The world would make sense then. I was fortunate enough to have met you these last couple of years. I'd like to think that there was some mutual respect. I know I held you in high regard. I always took for granted the opportunities we would have to build a closer friendship. I always knew you were a threat to embark upon your next adventure traversing the next worldly place to visit. For some reason, I always assume there would be more time for us. I think about the friendship that had yet to blossom. Most of our interactions was me teasing you about your "watches" or your hair or for you being anti-people. Something stupid. Somehow you tolerated me, I just felt that I had yet to cross the line with you.But I believe you knew it all came from a place of true respect. Early on, we told you to listen to Beyonce and put a ring on Sarah, "cuz you aint doing no better". You took it as the ultimate compliment of Sarah and not a diss on you; thank God cuz that is how we meant it. We were supposed to go to a UCLA football game this year. They are actually good this year. Again, soon enough we would go. I will miss you my friend. There was so much more that was meant to be, but atlas I will cherish the all too little time we had together. Rest in Peace my friend. You were a blessing to us all.

SGT Paul Lin was a great guy. He wouldn't hesitate to help anyone in need. Indeed a selfless person. You sure will be missed!

For those of us who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom 2007-2008, where  would we have been if it was not for the hard work of SGT Paul Lin?  Truly.  Because of his technical expertise,  we were able to provide timely and relevant information not only to our own unit but across Iraq.  My personal success, and our overall collective success is a result of SGT Paul Lin's efforts. The epitome of a silent  proffessional. Such an honor to have known him and to have served with him.

Paul was a great part of my sanity while in Iraq he was so focused on his work but it was not work to him he enjoyed everything he was doing making us safer with more information.  He was always upbeat his drive and motivation was infectious to all of us all round him. You will be greatly missed...

I wouldn't be the man I am today without Paul's influence on my life.  If you're had the privilege of seeing this man work, you know exactly what I mean when I say that just being around Paul made you want to be a better person.  I think that is Paul's gift to each of us.  He never asked for much, but instilled something in each of us that we can give: passion.

Thank you, Paul.  May you rest in peace and continue to be an influential part of every life you touch.

SGT. Lin was a true professional and always helped everyone.  The world will be a little less bright without him.

Paul was a great friend and co-worker. He did an amazing job with the military during our deployment. One of the smartest men I have ever met. He helped me out with my college courses and never was afraid to back down from anything. The world has lost a great person, friend, mind and soul. RIP my friend.
