Pauline Louis, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend to many, left this world suddenly on July 5, 2021. We deeply mourn her departure but are grateful to have had her with us for as long as we did.
Born in China, Pauline attended the prestigious McTyeire School where she met lifelong friends, some of whom journeyed across the Pacific with her to attend Mills College in Oakland, California. Pauline transferred and completed her undergraduate degree in Home Economics at Cornell University where she also met and later married her husband of 69 years, Jene Louis, amidst the historical beauty of Sage Chapel on the Cornell campus.
Together Pauline and Jene raised a family of 3 wonderful children. Pauline cherished and was deeply dedicated to her family, her friends, and her community. She would always make every effort to be genuine, be sincere, give herself fully, and do her very best whether in her service as a homemaker, professional dietitian, or community volunteer. In retirement, she and Jene moved to Southern California where they lived for 23 years.
Pauline is survived by her husband, 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. An intimate private family funeral will take place at Pacific View Memorial Park, Corona Del Mar, California. A celebration of Pauline’s life will be held at a later date.
