Rosemary Taylor, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 26, 2008. Rosemary was born January 9, 1949, in New York City, to Charles and Carmella (Daidone) Pantano. Raised in Little Italy, the Pantanos moved across the country to California when Rosemary was in high school, and a few years later she met Eugene Wayne Taylor, whom she married on September 6, 1969. Their family grew with the birth of their daughter Nicolle a few years later, and then again, when their second daughter Rebecca was born. For Rosemary, family was everything and it not only included her parents, husband and children, but also her cousins, tennis partners, godchildren, friends, and even her children’s friends, who would often call her “mom,” “Mama Ro” or “Titi RoRo.” She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her for her unabashed love of tennis, the Lakers, delicious food, having her hair perfectly coiffed at all times, and building a home that was always full of people and laughter. To her, the perfect number of guests was 20 and a high chair, so all felt welcome and loved when she was around. She is survived by her husband Gene; her daughters Nikki and Bekka; her son-in-law Luke; her granddaughters Jillian and Avery; her sister Teresa; her niece Julie and nephew Don; and many others who would claim her as their second mom, aunt, sister or grandma. Family, friends, and others whose lives Rosemary touched are invited to the chapel at Pacific View Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Dr., Corona del Mar, at 10a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2008 to reminisce and celebrate her incredible life.
