Shinja was born August 15, 1941. Growing up in both Boeun and Seoul, South Korea, she graduated from JinMyung Women’s High School and Ehwa Women’s University, majoring in English Language & Literature, while carrying a dream of moving to the U.S. After marrying, she was able to live out that dream by immigrating to Philadelphia, and then birthing 3 sons. She was always very involved with her communities, including being nominated for a Board position at her childrens’ schools as well as establishing and conducting the Choir for the Seoul International Women’s Association (SIWA). Afterwards, she continued to follow her love of classical music by becoming a D.J. of classical music for the only Korean radio station in San Francisco before finally retiring in Orange County.
She is survived by her husband, three sons and their families, along with six siblings and their children around the world. Her family would like to thank the Fountains at Sea Bluffs in Dana Point for their care in her latter years.
Shinja was laid to rest comfortably in her final resting place on Saturday, January 21, 2021 at 2pm with an amazing view we hope she always enjoys. If you stop by and see her, feel free to play her any music you think she’ll like!
항상 밝고 사랑스러웠으며 헌신적이였던 당신, 영원히 그리워 합니다.
