Shirley was simply the best! Rest in peace my friend.

How I adored Shirley!  When she would pass ride, she'd always take time to come to the galley and give us the low down on what was happening at work.  An indefatigable force for the benefit of those who shared her passion for flying.  How lucky for the Lord to finally have her at his side!  Thank you Shirley for all that you did and for the style and dignity with which you did it.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Family and Friends of this one-of-a-kind lady.  What a wonderful person Shirley was, her quick wit always made me laugh and smile.  I thank her for all that she did on behalf of her Flying Partners at United Airlines.  May Peace be with you always.

Shirley had a vibrant spirit and had the ability to light up a room and get a party going.  She will be remembered and she will be missed.

The time Shirley spent working with us is truly memorable. Her wit and wisdom was second to none, and I can still see her smile and hear her laugh. She will be missed.

Shirley was unique and one of the kindness people i've ever met. Many of times I would ask for her help interpreting this or that contractual provision and she would always give me the answer. She had an amazing mind and a real talent for detail but above all what I will remember about her the most for was her incredible humanity and commitment to her beliefs. I had the honor to work with Shirley on the United MEC for several years. Shirley knew scheduling better than anyone at United and could recite a pattern better than anyone in the system.
Shirley had a unique infectious laugh and I always knew I could count on Shirley for a spot of wit, or a look over the glasses to set me straight.
I was a better Union representative because of Shirley's mentoring...

Every single time I saw Shirley she made me laugh.  I will never forget Shirley's unique humor.  It was so sad to hear of Shirley's passing but I know she will always be here with us.  She was such a fun yet dedicated Union Leader and her legacy will live forever!

 I am reminded how firmly Shirley held the torch for our profession even when it was uncomfortable. It will be difficult to ever replace her love and strength. I will always feel the warm, soft breeze of her presence pressing us on to greater heights .

Shirley will be missed. No one had a deep voice that resonated when she spoke. She was knowledgeable in contract issues and quick to respond on any scheduling issues. She had a wonderful sense of humor. 

Shirley's flight 000 is heaven bound.God bless and keep her in His grace.

Kalahiki (HNL)

Life is so short.  However, Shirley would laugh as she recounted the time she and I attended UAL over-water training.  We competed to be the "last" to attend, as we were committed "domestic" people.  It was a riotous afternoon.  Even the instructor couldn't stop laughing! Remember Shirley's smile, her love of the Union; and first and foremost,her love of family and the pride she had in her children!  May she be forever in the arms of God.

Please let me extend my deepest sympathy to Shirley's family.  I knew Shirley as a vibrant union leader, always positive and smiling even while fighting the good fight for her flight attendants! Shirley is not someone you can easily forget, her passion, fight, her commitment to what is right and her unyielding desire to make the world better place made her standout from the rest.  I had the pleasure of working with her as a Flight Attendant and in my role in the Union; there is no better Flight Attendant, friend or mentor!  My heart goes out to the family for your loss, just know that Shirley touched many people and we are better and stronger because of her.
