Sieglinde Spyropoulos, aka Siegi, passed away on August 24, 2020 in Fallbrook, CA. She died due to multiple health conditions peacefully in her sleep.

Sieglinde was born in Pforzheim, Germany, the second child of Robert Stoesser and Hildegard Krieg.

Sieglinde was raised in Pforzheim and attended various linguistic schools in Germany and in countries nearby including Italy and France. While in France, she met George Spyropoulos in Paris on the Champs De Elysees, where he was selling charcoal portraits. She saved money from her meager earnings as an Au Pair to purchase a portrait. She not only fell in love with his paintings, but she fell in love with the artist, known as Yorgo. They married in August of 1958, and she had 2 children in Paris, Patricia and Christine. They emigrated to America in December of 1966, and she had a son in their new home in California, Angelo.

Siegi and Yorgo lived many years in Glendale, CA, and would often go to art shows in Marina Del Rey and La Cienega selling Yorgo’s beautiful paintings.

Sieglinde also worked as a Translator, and later as an Export Manager & Purchasing Director. She had 35 years in International Operations and loved working.

Sieglinde enjoyed the beach and swimming, friends and social gatherings, and her family. Sieglinde loved everyone and had a huge heart for people easily making friends everywhere she went. She will be remembered for her bright light, her huge smile her infectious personality, pleasant temperament, as well as her loving, generous spirit.

Sieglinde is survived by her older brother, Heiner Stoesser (Wiesbaden, Germany), her 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren across the United States. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband George Yorgo Spyropoulos who died August 15, 1997 of complications from emphysema.
