Born on July 7, 1956, Susan Kathleen Melia, known as Sue, was a dedicated mother, animal lover, and devoted wife. As a full-time stay-at-home mom, she embodied the role of caregiver, confidant, comedian, and short order cook, raising her three children to be successful, well-rounded adults. She was uniquely suited to motherhood- patient, caring, and generous with the organizational skills of a drill sergeant.
A native of California, Sue met her husband of nearly forty years, Mike, while doing laundry at their apartment complex. After stocking her empty refrigerator, Mike took Sue out to dinner at the Cannery in Newport Beach. Two years later, they married. Together Mike and Sue built a loving home and family in Huntington Beach, taking their three children to endless sports competitions, birthday parties, school functions, and summer camps. They also loved their family dogs Bonnie Dune, Pepe, and Bella.
Sue passed at the age of 66, on July 27th in Newport Beach, California. Sue’s children, Kristin, Lindsay, and Michael will forever honor and cherish her legacy. Sue joins her beloved husband Mike in heaven.
