Terrence Walsh

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terrence C. Walsh. Mr. Walsh died on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Saddleback Memorial Hospital in Laguna Hills as a result of complications from pneumonia. He was 76 years old.

Mr. Walsh spent almost 50 years in the commercial lighting industry; his most recent position was that as President and CEO of Tempo Industries, in Irvine, California. Walsh joined Tempo Industries in 2006 as a Principal and assisted in the development of high power lighting class LED products including the multiple award winning Series 6000 linear LED system. He was on the boards of several companies, had four US patents, and had authored several articles on lighting, security, and acquisition/merger strategies. He was a frequent speaker at the International Electronics Show, US Department of Energy workshops, LED conferences and industry related trade shows.

In addition to his leadership at Tempo, he also held Executive Leadership roles at Tivoli Lighting, Zumtobel, JJI Lighting Group, Mold Cast, and Prescolite. He was also a distinguished veteran of the U.S. Army as an officer and completed multiple combat tours in Vietnam. Terrence, known as "Terry" by his close friends and associates, was also a proud graduate of Rutgers University in Physics, and had a lifelong passion for astronomy, photography, cigars, and New York Yankees baseball.

For 20+ years Terry enjoyed his home in Borrego Springs, CA, and was a member of the De Anza Country Club.

He was preceded in death by two older brothers, Dennis and Tom Walsh. They were born and raised in Gardner, Maine.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marilyn Walsh, and by his four nieces: Theresa Patterson, Christina Rodrigues, Chloe Axelrod, and Melissa Axelrod.

Memorial Services celebrating the life of Mr. Walsh will be held at the Pacific View Mortuary in Corona del Mar, CA on Sunday June 4 at 1 pm.
