Born on February 20, 1948, in Glendale, California, Tim was the son of Wallace Jackson Clark and Nina Mae Preston Clark. He grew up alongside his brother, Wally, and sister, Melissa. A 1966 graduate of Santa Ana High School, Tim went on to earn both his bachelor’s and MBA from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF).
During his college years, Tim became a proud and lifelong member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, where he helped organize the university’s iconic “Elephant Races,” celebrating Titan Spirit. It was at a Cal State Fullerton welcome dance in 1968 that he met the love of his life, Sandra Sue McCormick, an active member of Beta Psi Omega sorority. The two married on August 8, 1970, at La Habra Methodist Church and went on to share 55 wonderful years together.
Tim served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1970 to 1976. He and Sandy settled in Irvine, California, where they raised their two children, Kristen and Cameron.
A talented and dedicated professional, Tim built a successful career in software sales and management, working with companies that served the aerospace, defense, and entertainment industries. He retired in 2012.
Outside of work, Tim lived life to the fullest. He was an avid cyclist, skier, racquetball player, and loyal Angels Baseball fan. He loved traveling with Sandy, exploring both European destinations and favorite spots across the U.S. A skilled home chef, Tim had a gift for creating gourmet meals from whatever was in the refrigerator and pantry. He loved exploring new restaurants with friends and neighbors, Halloween costume parties, the annual Christmas Breakfast with college friends, and attending theater productions and smooth/ contemporary jazz concerts. Tim loved to collect art and had an eclectic compilation that included everything from Marco Sassone, Pablo Picasso, Alexander Calder, and also comedic movie posters and Gary Larson cartoons. His passion for fine wine and cars, especially his BMW 528e and Infiniti Q50 400 Red Sport—was well known to family and friends. Tim had a fondness for dogs and loved his pups McGregor (Scottish Terrier), Amos (Cairn Terrier) and Blaze (Silky Terrier), all whom preceded him in death. We are comforted in knowing he has companions in Heaven.
Tim remained deeply involved with his fraternity, Phi Kappa Tau, long after graduation, serving as the alumni advisor for many years. He organized fundraisers and events to support both the fraternity’s operations and its charitable partner, The Painted Turtle Camp, which provides life-changing experiences for children with serious medical conditions.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; his children, Kristen Raskulinecz and Cameron Clark, Daughter in law Julie; and his cherished grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Raskulinecz, and Charlotte and Alexander Clark. He is also survived by his brother, Wally Clark (Aletha); sister, Melissa Dalton; nephews Dan Clark, Matt Dalton, and Josh Weinreich; niece Allison Lerma; and sister- and brother-in-law Becky and Michael Weinreich.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wally and Nina Clark; niece Kelli Mae Dalton; and son-in-law, Chris Raskulinecz.
A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6th. Services will be held at the Legacy Chapel at Pacific View Mortuary, 3500 Pacific View Dr, Corona Del Mar, CA 92625, followed by a graveside service, then a reception at the venue.
Donations may be made in Tim’s memory to The Painted Turtle Camp (The Painted Turtle – A Seriously Fun Camp, founded by Paul Newman) or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
