William (Bill) Chang was born in China to Dr. and Mrs. CW Chang and had one brother and five sisters. He loved and played all sports including: soccer, baseball, basketball (huge Lakers fan), track and field, wrestling, boxing, and swimming. William was also a talented musician who played the wood and Hawaiian steel guitars.
He is survived by his wife Catherine, daughter Sophia Bien (husband C.T. and granddaughter Kasen), son Richard Chang, and many other relatives covering multiple generations. William's major career highlights included working on the early moon missions and more recently the Space Shuttle program.
A lifelong learning and avid reader, William was always able to find an interest in everyone and everything. He lived his life in simple ways but was always generous toward family and friends which was reflected through his belief: “What you do for yourself dies, but what you do for others will live on forever."
