

William was born in New York. He was the eldest of 6 children born to Thurman Howard Funk and Janet Murry Funk. He started his life as a young boy working in the salt mines and then eventually in the coal mines. He was a star high school athlete, playing on the #1 basketball, baseball and soccer teams.
Bill put himself through college at Penn State. He raised his two sons Mike and Mark alone while finishing his education.
As a young engineer his “Claim to fame” was designing and building the Anaheim Angels “A”. This fame led him to future work building in Iran in the 1970’s & 1980’s.
He met and married Karla, the love of his life in 1988.
He worked for many years running the Austin Company and then CPH & MAKAR. His last project was building the “St. Regis Hotel” in Dana Point.
He retired, spending his time with friends and family, playing tennis and swimming.
He leaves behind his wife Karla, 2 sons Mark & Mike, 2 daughters Gina & Marcella. 10 grandchildren Trey, Brandon, Bobbi, Alex, Foster, Ryan, Tyler, Gabriel, Harrison and Kingston.
