After joining the service at age 17, William was stationed in Germany as part of the Army’s 2nd Armored Division known as “Hell on Wheels” and tasked with border security. Upon returning from overseas he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree and worked in retail as a manager of Bullock’s department store, where he met his wife of 50 years, Lillian. They were married on December 30th 1971 in Las Vegas, NV, one of his favorite places to visit.
William was a brilliant and honest business man who always provided invaluable advice. He and Lillian went into the real estate industry together and eventually started their own business, Monarch Funding Corp. which they jointly owned and operated over the last 43 years. He spent the last 50 years of his life in Orange County, CA.
His passions included attending UCLA football games, Chargers games and watching movies, but he loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He was gentle, kind, and had a great sense of humor. He loved to laugh with those close to him.
William is survived by his wife, Lillian; his daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and David; his son and daughter-in-law, William II and Janai; his seven grandchildren Trevor, Gavin, Lilly, Garrett, Kylee, Aubrey and William III, as well as his dogs “the girls” Maddie and Lucy.
