Yvonne Marie Attyah
"Sitty"
March 27, 1934 - December 3, 2019
Our beloved Mom, Sitty, Mother-in-Law, Sister, Sister-in-Law, Daughter, Aunt, Cousin, Friend and, about to-be next week, a Great Sitty, Yvonne Marie Attyah passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the age of 85. With her children by her side, she fell asleep and left us to join our Savior Jesus Christ, her husband John, and all her family and friends in Heaven who went before.
Yvonne was born in Portland, Oregon to her loving parents Robert and Mabel Bitar. She was the oldest of four daughters. Though Yvonne lost her John thirty years ago, people that knew her best could not say "Yvonne" without "John". They were husband and wife, business and social partners and, most importantly, the best parents Bob and Cindy could have asked for until their last breaths. Their legacy together helped create six grandchildren and, coming in December, one great-grandson, Hudson Reynold King.
Yvonne graduated from Pacific University in Education and aspired to be an elementary school teacher. But shortly after graduation, she married John Mitchell Attyah in l955. She became an instrumental part of helping to build the bowling center and real estate enterprises. Yvonne was a huge supporter and Volunteer of the Newport Beach assistance league for over 20 years. She gave her life and support to all that came across her path. Our mom Yvonne was, as described by many, a "hoot", loving, feisty, a great cook, a great entertainer, a great friend and partner. She loved "bling bling", flashing lights, funny glasses, glittery clothes, and the holidays.
Fr. Michael Laffoon of St. Mark Antiochian Orthodox Church, who officiated the funeral services for John Attyah, will officiate Yvonne's funeral services as well.
The service will be held on December 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Antiochian Orthodox Church, 17840 Sky Park Circle, Irvine, CA.
Memory Eternal.
