Adela F. Capelo, 87, of Corpus Christi, Texas, was called home to be with the Lord on May 20, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on December 27, 1937, to Ramon and Elena Fernandez, Adela’s life was a beautiful testament to faith, family, and unconditional love.
A proud graduate of Roy Miller High School, Adela married her lifelong sweetheart, Pedro V. Capelo Jr., on June 15, 1958. Together, they built a life full of laughter, love, and strong family values—a legacy that continues through their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Adela had the rare gift of making everyone feel at home. Her door was always open, her arms always welcoming, and her kitchen always warm. Family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her lovingly prepared meals, the delicious smells that filled her home, and the way she made every gathering feel special.
She was a woman of many talents—an artist with a gentle touch who found joy in ceramics, sewing, knitting, crafting, and especially in making stuffed toys for her grandchildren, each one stitched with care and devotion. These tokens of her love are now treasured keepsakes, reminders of her thoughtfulness and the joy she took in giving.
Adela’s happiest moments were spent surrounded by her family—watching sports, sharing stories, and celebrating life’s little blessings. Her nurturing spirit touched everyone she met and made even the simplest moments unforgettable.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents; her devoted husband, Pedro V. Capelo Jr.; and her dear son, Raymond F. Capelo.
Adela leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Norma (Ricardo) Reyes and Elizabeth (Michael) Lemmon; her grandchildren, Arturo (Laura) Aguilar,Jr., Candace Rampoldi, George Edward Uribe, Trent Lemmon, and Noah Capelo; and her great-grandchildren, Brittany Aguilar, Aaron Aguilar, Elizabeth Uribe, Alexandria Uribe, David Uribe, and Luca and Luciana Rampoldi.
Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those who stood beside her with compassion and care in her final days: Brianna Valdez at Compassus Hospice, the dedicated caregivers at St. Gabriel Assisted Living and Caraday of Corpus Christi Assisted Living, and the loving support of Suzie Sorrell, Gracie Herrera, and Nora Garcia. Your kindness brought comfort and peace when it was needed most, and we are forever grateful.
Adela’s presence was a gift, and her love was a blessing. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
