Adelina C. Pena, 93, passed away on September 14, 2026. She was born on December 23, 1932, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Miguel Castillo and Celestina Amaro Castillo. In September 1949, she married Juan R Pena, and together they lived in Corpus Christi, Texas, where they raised 16 children.
Throughout her life, Adelina carried herself with steady devotion—to her family, to her faith, and to the everyday moments that brought people together, especially music and dancing. She attended Greenwood Senior Center and remained dedicated to her church.
Adelina is survived by Evangelina Sabala; Alma Urbina; Dolores Gibson (husband Tink); Alonzo Castillo (wife Jeannie); Irene Cipriano; Hellen Castro (husband Juan); Maria Valdez; Angelita Alonso; Rose Pena (spouse Joelle); Daniel Pena (wife Rita); and Gabriel Pena.
Adelina was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel and Celestina Castillo; her siblings, Santos Castillo, Uvaldino Castillo, Benito Castillo, Raul Castillo, Jesus Castillo, Sally O'Leary, Manuel Castillo, Leonor Garza and Miguel Castillo; and her children, Juan Pena, Joe Pena, Juan Pena Jr., Mariano Pena, Cecilia Garcia, Hermelinda Reyna, Eduardo Pena, Johnny Pena, Ernest Pena, and David Pena.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415, on September 22, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415, on September 23, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Committal will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415, on September 23, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
