

He was born in Galena Park, Texas on May 1, 1947 to George and Nancy Willeford. Al proudly served his country with two tours in Vietnam, enlisting in the U. S. Navy and served as a Marine Corp Medic. The decorations he received included the following: National Defense Service Medal for active service, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, two Purple Heart Medals, Combat Action Medal and Ribbon Bar, Silver Star Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
Al became the Owner/Dealer of Al Willeford Chevrolet in 1984. He was also a director for the Texas Automobile Dealers Association. His Hobbies included golfing, fishing, and cooking. He was known for cooking the best fried fish and shrimp. Al was very involved in the community serving as a faithful supporter of the San Patricio and Aransas County Junior Livestock Show. He was also a longtime supporter of the Sinton for Youth scholarship program.
Al was a Gideon in the North Texas Camp. He also loved his church, Glad Tidings Assembly of God and served as the Sunday School Superintendant, adult and children’s Sunday School teacher and was a board member for many years.
Al was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was also a great mentor to all. Al impacted many lives by his Godly example and Christian walk. Above all, Al gave all of himself as a servant to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Al leaves behind his family to cherish his memories with his loving wife, Cindi Willeford of Corpus Christi, one son, Brian W. Willeford (Bridget) of Portland, Texas; step-daughter, Jessica DeLeon (Javier) of Sinton, Texas; five grandchildren, Brandon and Breanna Willeford of Portland,Texas, Delilah, Celeste and Trinity DeLeon of Sinton, Texas; sisters, Annie Reed of Herber Springs, Arkansas, Mary Rhyne of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Kathy Byerly (John) of Robstown, Texas; brother, Dale Willeford (Elaine) of Mooresville, North Carolina.
