

Albino Valdez Salas, 78, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on December 6, 2025. A beloved father, son and friend, Albino lived a life filled with joy, determination, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved.
Born in San Diego, Texas and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, Albino graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. His time in the service strengthened the self-sufficiency and discipline that would guide him throughout his life. With a sharp mind and a gifted hands-on ability, he built a successful career as a Mechanical Engineer, earning respect for both his skill and his integrity.
Albino embraced life with a sense of adventure and a blessing of good luck. He enjoyed traveling to Eagle Pass, Coushatta, and Las Vegas, where he found excitement in new experiences and the thrill of the games. Bingo nights were a favorite for Albino, moments filled with laughter, anticipation, and the company of others. Above all, Albino treasured time with his family, finding his greatest happiness in their presence.
He will be remembered as a man who worked hard, loved deeply, and lived fully. Albino’s legacy of resilience, generosity, and joy will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him.
Albino is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Blanca Salas, and his father, Pedro Salas.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Anita Valdez Luhn; his daughter, Blanca Salas; his brother, Jose Angel Salas; his sisters, Alicia (Bonifacio) Garcia and Aida (Nehemis) Guzman. He is also survived by his nieces, Rachal Saavedra and Bethany Saldana; his nephews, Jose Angel Salas, Jr., Gabriel Salas, Bonifacio Guadalupe Garcia, and Benjamin Guzman; his grandchildren, Vanessa Trevino and Bianca Trevino; and his great-grandchildren, Ariana Chacon and Jeriah Mitchell.
Abino will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
