

Alejandro "Alex" Leal, 58, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024. Born on December 9, 1965, to Natividad and Maria Angelica Leal, Alex lived a life filled with love, hard work, and an unwavering dedication to family and friends.A proud graduate of Roy Miller High School, Class of 1984, Alex was known for his creativity, which he displayed even in middle school when he stitched together a denim vest in Home Economics class. His passion for working with his hands led to a long and respected career as a Heavy Equipment Operator with Mother Earth Materials and Know Waste Concrete. Alex’s love for music was ever-present, and he expressed this passion as a talented Disk Jockey in his free time. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—listening to his favorite tunes, enjoying an ice-cold Dr. Pepper, and spending quiet moments in his car, where he felt at peace. A proud and devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Alex’s energy and enthusiasm were also evident in his one and only boxing match with Davilas Boxing Club in Laredo.At the heart of his life was his deep devotion to family. As the beloved patriarch, Alex was a man of immense warmth, kindness, and integrity. His generosity knew no bounds—he was always willing to help those in need, offering the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. His greatest joy came from spending time with his large and growing family, sharing meals, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a beacon of strength and support for all who knew him, offering wisdom and love to everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.Alex is survived by his loving wife, Digna V. Leal; his children, Andrew (Cephanie) Pellat, Allissa Pellat, Michael Pellat, Katherine Varela, Jasce Varela, and Jasee Varela; and his eleven cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Dalia Ayala, Alma (Louie) Sanchez, Minerva (John) Baca, Norma Leal, Rene (Melissa) Leal, Natividad (Grace) Leal Jr., and Luke (Sylvia) Leal, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Alex’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support they have received during this difficult time. They extend special thanks to his employer, friends, and family, and offer heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated staff at Doctors Regional ICU. Alex’s generous spirit and loving heart will live on in the memories of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation for Alex will take place on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel, located at 549 Cheyenne St., Corpus Christi, TX. A Prayer Service will be at 6:00 p.m.
