Alfredo R. Sanchez Sr., of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on November 10, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on September 18, 1945, Alfredo was known for his hard-working nature and faithful dedication to his family and community.
Alfredo was a proud veteran of the US Army and spent his professional life as a welder at Lyondell Bassell until his retirement in 2007. He was a man of many talents and interests, including cooking BBQ, watching football, building homes, and creative hobbies such as woodworking and painting. Alfredo devoted many years to providing foster care for hundreds of children in need with his wife, offering great advice and support to those around him.
He was married to Sarah M. Sanchez on January 5, 1967, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Together, they raised three children. Alfredo was a member of Solid Rock Church, where he was actively involved in the community.
Alfredo is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sarah M. Sanchez; his parents, Teodoro and Adelaida Sanchez; and his brother, Arturo Sanchez.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Alfredo Jr., Richard, and Maria; grandchildren, Alfredo Sanchez III, Joshua Sanchez, Justin Sanchez, Jeremy Sanchez, Richard Sanchez Jr., Rey Sanchez, and Gia Sanchez; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Aida S. Adami and Adelita S. Lichtenberger.
A visitation will be held on November 18, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, located at 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78415. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, with interment scheduled for 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm. Alfredo will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Alfredo's legacy of kindness, creativity, and dedication will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
