Alicia Gomez Garza

Alicia Gomez Garza, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, on December 27, 2022. She was born on December 25, 1938, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Alicia was a loving, generous, and caring servant of God. She was a loving wife, and wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pete Garza, Sr.; her parents, Jesus and Eloisa Gomez; sisters, Jesusita Aguilar, Mary Soliz, and Elena Franco; and brother, Jose Gomez.

She will deeply missed by her children, Pete Garza, Jr. (Cynthia), Paul Garza (Marlo), Martin Garza (Jenny) and Mary Lopez (Robert); brother, Jesus Gomez (Laurie); four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Alicia’s greatest treasure was her great faith in God and was always fervently praying for her family.

Alicia’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to her caregivers, Barbara Garza, Guadalupe Morales, Yolanda Lopez, and Mary Cruz. We are also grateful to Dr. Martinez and his staff in caring for our mother throughout the years.

A visitation for Alicia will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel - Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A vigil service and rosary will occur Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 7:00 PM, 3442 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A mass of christian burial will occur Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Ss Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 3210 S Padre Island Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. An interment will occur Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Seaside Memorial Park, 4357 Ocean Dr, Corpus Christi, TX.
