Allen Cottrell Merriam went to be with our Lord on September 24, 2012, after a long & happy life. Some of his notable accomplishments include landing at Utah Beach on D-Day, Geology Degree from Univ. of W. Virginia, long productive career with CCISD, 53+ year marriage, 32nd Degree Mason and travel to Granada, Alaska, and Galapagos Islands. He loved working with young people, travel and serving within the Church. He is survived by his two daughters, Sarah T. Kitchen of Springtown, Texas and Joan C. Oliver of Corpus Christi, Texas, one son Richard A. Merriam of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Frederick R. Merriam of Clearwater, Florida, and six grandchildren. A Memorial service led by Rev. Jonathan W. Wickham will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church located at 3026 South Staples, Corpus Christi, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the All Saints Episcopal Memorial Fund in memory of Allen C. Merriam.
