
Amelia was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel DeLuna; her parents, three brothers, John, Robert, and Alfredo Ramon; two sisters, Rita De Loa and Mary Ortiz; and a son-in-law, Timothy Nelson.
Amelia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a very talented cook and loved to show her talent at family gatherings and holiday dinners. Amelia loved getting dressed up and going out dancing with Manuel. They both attended every family/friends' graduations, baptisms, weddings – any family event, especially if there was dancing. She retired from the Corpus Christi Independent School District after 27 years of service. She will be greatly missed.
Amelia is survived by her four daughters – Esmeralda (Harry) Hutchinson of Round Rock, TX, Christina Nelson of Spring, TX, Margaret (Raul) Lopez of McAllen, TX, Cynthia (Kerwin) Waters of Montgomery, TX, ten grandchildren - Erica (Jim) Edwards of Sequim, WA, Lesley (Vincent) Coco of Pflugerville, TX, Vanessa (Robert) Ozuna of Willis, TX, Jessica (Jesse) Rios of Spring, TX, Lea Luna of Edinburg, TX, Aaron Lopez of Austin, TX, Andrew (Betza) Lopez of Edinburg, TX, Lauren Waters of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Megan (Adam) Perez of Houston, TX, Kayla (Mason) McLean of Cypress, TX, twelve great-grandchildren, with one great-grandchild on the way, sister Margaret Solis of Fontana, CA, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members and friends.
Viewing and Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415, on July 14, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with Eulogy & Memory Share beginning at 6:30 pm and the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm.
Continued Visitation will take place at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415, on July 15, 2026, at 9:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 am and the Rite of Committal and Entombment at 11:00 am at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
