Andrew James Sitterly was the son of the late James Andrew Sitterly, Sr. and Dorothy May Ahnert. Andy is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn D. Sitterly of Corpus Christi, TX; his children Andrew James Sitterly (Wife Katie) of TX; Brandie Lee Ricketts (Husband Joe) of FL; Michael Adam Sitterly of FL; William Edward Everitt, Jr. of AZ, and by his grandchildren for whom he is very proud of and loved more than fishing; Ashley Ricketts, Shelby Ricketts, Zoe Sitterly and Logan Sitterly.
Andy was born on November 15, 1948 in Amsterdam, NY. He lived in Broadalbin, NY until 1966 when he enlisted in the United States Navy. He was a Vietnam Veteran and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer after 25 ½ years of service. Andy was currently enjoying his retirement with his family and friends at his waterfront home he had always dreamed about when the Lord called him home. He is a life member of the American Legion, Mississippi and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Andy loved doing so many things, it is difficult to only mention a few. Some of his favorites were spending time with his family, Sunday breakfast with friends, fishing (you would never guess), spoiling his cat, Ringo, working on his boat (boat is for sale, you must take the trailer), taking stuff apart, putting stuff back together (always while listening to the oldies), eating fried food (especially oysters), bedtime ice cream, and endless episodes of NCIS. Andy was so loved by his family and friends that his kindness and fun spirit will be missed immensely.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Funeraria Del Angel, located at 4901 Everhart Rd., Corpus Christi, TX 78411.
Interment will take place at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christie, TX. The date is TBD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MD Anderson Cancer in memory of Andy, at the request of the family (see below for link).
