Angel Flores, Tejano Conjunto Music Legend, has gone to his eternal rest. Acclaimed accordionist, singer and songwriter, he began his illustrious career at an early age and entertained fans for over 40 years. Well known throughout the U.S. and Mexico, he was the recipient of multiple awards and recognitions including a lifetime achievement award from San Antonio’s Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, and induction to Austin’s Texas Music Museum, and San Benito’s Texas Conjunto Music Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Ruben, Melinda (Angel), Mary Judith (Michael), and Charles (Teri); grandchildren, Michael, Marcus, Meagan, Nina, Sean, Robert and Felix; mother of his children, Divina; and siblings, Daniel Flores (Blanca), Maria (Benjamin), Mary Elena (Guillermo), David (Lora), Juan (Minerva), Maria Guadalupe (Lorenzo), Beatrize, Madaleno, Cruz (Josie), and Domingo (MaryAnn).
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Ss. Cyril and Methodious Catholic Church located on 3210 S. Padre Island Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78415.
