She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 53 years, Albert Guajardo, Sr. who died in 1994. Also preceding her in death are her parents, Anita and Urbano Hernandez; her sisters Felicita Villarreal, Carolina Cevallos, Micaela Jimenez and Otilia Alvarado; daughter, Ernestina G. Anita was very blessed with 25 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Anita and her husband were avid dancers. They always enjoyed going to couples dances with their closest friends and compadres. She was an active member of the Hector P. Garcia G. I. Forum Ladies Auxiliary during the Viet Nam Conflict. The Ladies Auxiliary would go to the Corpus Christi Airport to receive the fallen soldiers coming home from the war. She was also proud to have served for several years in the The Guadalupana Society at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Anita also enjoyed visiting the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary Shrine in Rockport, Texas and the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle-National Shrine in San Juan, Texas with her family and friends.
Anita was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother who always took the time to spend with her loving family. She had certain foods that she especially liked to cook for her friends and family, like her delicious potato salad, her tasty menudo and, of course, her great flour tortillas which she made with all her love. She will be missed very much.
The family would like to give special thanks for the loving care our mother received from the following CNAs at The Palms Nursing Home: Antonio Narcise, Erica Abrigo, Sergio Obregon and Gabby Stoddard. A special thanks to all the staff at ALTUS Hospice.
