Anita Hernandez Oliver

Anita Hernandez Oliver, 80, passed away on August 2, 2024. She was born in Corpus Christi, TX on February 15, 1944. She was a Radiologic Technologist for over 40 years. She worked for Dr. Roberto Bosquez and then for Thomas Spann Clinic. While working for Thomas Spann Clinic she went back to school to get a Bachelor of Science degree from Corpus Christi State University, now called Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. In her later years she began teaching at Kaplan College and then became a substitute teacher for CCISD mainly serving Zavala Elementary. She was an active member of El Divino Salvador Presbyterian Church where she served as a youth group sponsor with her husband and an ordained Elder of the Presbyterian Church (USA). She also taught Sunday School, VBS and was the pianist for all the services.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George R. Hernandez and Juanita P. Hernandez. Her brother George P. Hernandez, sister Elida Gomez and her husband of 54 years Pedro Javier (Pete) Oliver.

She is survived by her daughters Anne-Marie (Corey) King and Catherine (Tony) Aguero. Her five grandchildren Catarina (Nathan) Smith, Nicholas Oliver Mills, Deanna (Cameron Lozano) Aguero, Ethan Oliver Aguero and Cayden King. Two great-granddaughters, Mary Grace Smith, Ava Sky Lozano, great-grandson Ozzy Javier Lozano and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family would like to thank Del Cielo Hospice Home Health for all their services they provided for her.

A visitation for Anita will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 6-8 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Cheyenne located at 549 Cheyenne St., Corpus Christi, Texas 78405. The funeral service will be held the Thursday, August 15 at 9:00am, 549 Cheyenne St., Corpus Christi, TX 78405, followed by an 11am burial at the Coastal Bend Veterans Cemetery, 9974 I-37, Corpus Christi, TX 78410.
