

Anita Maldonado Uribe was born April 30, 1928 in Agualeguas, Nuevo Leon Mexico to Ambrosio and Josefa S. Maldonado. At the age of 16, she moved to Corpus Christi, TX to live with her Aunt and Uncle, Nicola and Gonzalo Valverde to make it her home and a year later she met her husband, David Uribe. In 1964, Anita and David became the owners of the New Rosewood Bakery for 25 years offering cakes and flower arrangements for special occasions.
Anita enjoyed traveling and collecting porcelain, especially Llardo. She was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista in Corpus Christi. Every Sunday, she would prepare pot roast after church for the family to enjoy. Anita was a caregiver to many.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents: brothers, Adolfo, Ambrosio, Emilio, Juan, and Vidal; sisters, Alva, Catalina and Mary; and her son, Jorge Luis.
Survivors include three sisters, Camelia Garza, Josephia Gonzalez, Yolanda Casso and one brother, Wally Maldonado; five children, Sylvia Garza, David (Juanie) Uribe, Jay (Anna) Uribe, and Oscar (Yolanda) Uribe; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel-Cheyenne, 549 Cheyenne St., on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm that same evening.
Funeral Services will be held at Funeraria Del Angel-Cheyenne, 549 Cheyenne St., on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
